Coconut Water – The Fluid of Life
|Tender Coconut Water keeps body cool|
These photographs of tender coconuts were captured during our travel in Dindigal highway (Tamil Nadu, India).
I thought of putting “coconut water benefits” along with these two photographs. While looking out for some beneficial uses of coconut water in the internet, I came across some mind blowing information about this fluid of life.
I read it in Wikipedia that the British and Japanese patients were given coconut water intravenously in an emergency because saline water was unavailable during World War II. (Substituting coconut water for saline is not recommended today).

Well, all the information in this post is in terms of green coconut water. The coconut color is drastically different in these two images.
No doubt, an unopened coconut water is uncontaminated by bacteria, fungi and other pathogens. The coconut water does not harm red blood cells, is non-allergenic and is readily accepted by our body. It is considered as a safe and useful means of rehydration. It is highly recommended as a means of oral rehydration.
